IFAU seeks junior researcher for post doc position in economics of education
IFAU seeks a post-doctoral researcher in economics for a FORTE funded research project on migration and the education system (DNR 2021-00736, “Receiving Refugees in Schools: Effects on human capital accumulation, segregation and integration”).
The Institute for Evaluation of Labour Market and Education Policy (IFAU) is a government research institute under the Swedish Ministry of Employment. IFAU conducts research in labour economics with a focus on evaluating labour market and education policies, and the social security system. IFAU is located in Uppsala, Sweden, and has close collaborations with the Department of Economics at Uppsala University.
Job description
You will collaborate with IFAU researchers Anna Sjögren, Helena Holmlund and Hanna Mühlrad on projects related to migration and education. You will independently conduct empirical analyses using microdata, and write both scientific articles and research briefs.
Qualifications
We seek candidates that have recently obtained their PhD in economics (or who will soon defend their PhD). (You need to have a PhD by the time the employment decision is made, at the latest).
You have previous experience from policy relevant research using register data. You are familiar with econometric methods used for identifying causal effects. You are fluent in English and have good communication and writing skills. We highly value personal characteristics such as e.g. collaboration skills.
We value previous experience from research within economics of education, as well as scientific publications. Mastering the Swedish language is not a requirement but is highly valued.
Duration
The position is a full-time position with a duration of 24 months (following the Swedish regulation on temporary employment for postdoctoral positions).
The starting date is flexible upon agreement.
